Crochet people crochet!

It's basically one giant knot with lots of twists in it. One very un-basic, complicated knot. That I have finally almost mastered.

Almost.

The picture shows attempt number at least three of the evening. The trouble is I can't quite remember how I did it. The quest to truly master this craft and create something either useful, beautiful or both continues.

  1. I created a number of "who-knows-how-I-made-it" items in the first few weeks of my adventures with crochet - most of which became temporary cat hats before being frogged and retried :) I kept with it though and one day it just clicked together, now *addicted* :)

For me, it clicked after I made my first granny square. Until then, I'd just made solid cloth and I couldn't see it being that much different to knitting but when I made a granny square ... boom.

I'd highly recommended this (US) pattern as a good early useful project - it's pretty quick to make up and instantly useful. I made a good number of them out of any non-stretchy yarn I could lay my hands on back in the day and we still use them whenever we go shopping, nearly 5 years on.

    1. Hi Louisa, thanks for the encouragement (I'm not sure our cat would be too impressed if I tried to make her actually wear any of my attempts though!)

The link to the pattern didnt come through, could you send it again? It sounds good!

      Thanks, Jen
